There aren't many things that surpass the experiences you gain on tour, but to be given the opportunity to experience europe within the mix, is simply unreal! For us it was like a holiday except with the addition of shows! However as well as a holiday with close friends, the opportunity to meet new people and friends was always met with smiles and a few beers, well maybe to many beers! A perfect example of this was meeting the guys from Yfere. We were anxious of what they might be like and of course made worse by the language barrier. But we must say that Yfere were not only an awesome live band but amazing people too. It was truely a pleasure to share the stage and van with them, the language barrier in the end didnt matter as they all spoke very good english especially Kon (guitarist) who could actually be English, ha! We all shared so much together that I feel like they will be friends for life!
But a massive thanks must be put out to one of the funniest human beings we've ever met, flo aka "the Vulture". For he was the one that brought us to Europe and drove us around, well most of the time. In some occasions he would simply be to fucked up to drive. This is when "The Kondor" drove. But without Flo things wouldn't of been as magical as it was!
I cant really go into detail all the crazy, funny and amazing memories we have but maybe a quick list might put things into perspective:
- Zac throwing up on our way through Belgium for no apparent reason!
- Sleeping in the car somewhere in Germany because our sat Nav just did not work properly in Europe! It took 21 hours to get from the uk to Halbarstat (eastern Germany)
- A car crashed into the back of our van upon pulling out of a junction on the first date! the back of the van was fucked [but lasted the whole tour] and so was her car, but the equipment was actually ok!
- Our van aka "the Fridge" was always cold due to the van doors being unable to close properly after the crash. Plus the heating didnt work!
- It was -4 and snowed most days!
-Absolutely INCREDIBLE shows !!!!
- Strange but great nights out, one including a german techno club!
- Free Beer, Food and infact anything we wanted most nights
- Amazing Venues with so much character. We played in a cave like venue and a activist squat which used to be factories in the second world war that, made the ovens for infamous German war camp "Auschwitz"
- Lewis crossing swords
- Lewis administering the Shocker in Vienna
- Lewis falling in Love
- Greg falling in Love
- To many Beards grown of which Zacs looked the most fucked up.
- Drunken swimming pool and sauna experience after a show, with half naked bodies jumping in the snow, The vulture getting sucked off in a swimming pool and a sauna so full of men that it was slightly homoerotic!
- A scene so vibrant and active that it makes the uk look narrow minded. Such a strong activist uprising that supports punk rock and everything it stands for. Truly Amazing, we need this in the uk.
- Vulturization
- Alright me Bird
- Lorenzo the punk Rock bass player
- So much crowd surfing
- Show me your genitals
- The trashing of a mirror ball and microphones.
I mean there are so many stories to tell but like always never enough time to tell them!
Gregory!
